Hyundai India has lined up 8 new launches for coming years and the most important launch of this year will be the upcoming hatchback

Hyundai is one of the fastest growing manufacturers in India and the company has completed 20 years in domestic market and over the years, sales have been steadily raising. India has become one of the regional headquarters of Hyundai along with one in Europe and US which had commenced its operations on July 2.

The responsibility of Hyundai Motor India (HMIL) has increased considerably by becoming the regional headquarters and they could take decisions much faster for domestic market. Currently the long term planning of HMIL is for three years, but it will increase to 10 years from now on and the main target is sustainable growth with focus on manufacturing and exports.

2018 Hyundai Santro Spied Testing Again 1The Research and Development (R&D) centre of Hyundai in India will also play a key role in development of future products. The company hasn’t taken decision on whether to increase number of Indian engineers will be involved in future product development but the company said that the current R&D centre already include both Indian and Korean engineers.

The Korean manufacturer is running a campaign across its customers to choose name for the new hatchback and if Santro get maximum votes, then it will be the name for H2 which is the codename for new hatchback.

2018 Hyundai Santro Spied Testing AgainThe Santro is going to be placed below Grand i10 and it is the first model from Hyundai to get AMT transmission. The new model is spacious and it could come with segment first features to take on established rivals. Hyundai Santro is expected to be powered by either 1.2 L Kappa engine on Grand i10 or a new 1.0 or 1.1 engine.

Hyundai will officially launch new Santro by festival season in India and it will be priced competitively. The upcoming product lineup includes new electric SUV which will be imported initially and depending on market response along with government support, the company will decide whether to locally assemble or not.
