Honda has managed to sell 59 units of recently launched CR-V in February and posted Year-On-Year sales growth of 321 per cent
The new Honda CR-V has posted Year-On-Year sales growth of 321 per cent in February as the company sold 59 units last month compared to 14 units in the same month last year. Honda officially launched the fifth generation CR-V on October 9th in India at the starting price of Rs. 28.15 lakh (Ex-Showroom).
Since the launch of the new generation model, sales of the premium SUV have improved considerably. But the CR-V registered 52 per cent Month-On-Month negative growth in February and it will take some time for the SUV to stabilize sales. The full-size SUV segment is getting lots of attention these days thanks to new models.
Mahindra introduced the much awaited new Alturas G4 last year and Ford launched the Endeavour facelift model last month. For the first time, Honda introduced diesel engine with CR-V as the earlier model came with a petrol engine only, which was why sales were low as most of the people in this segment preferred diesel models due to efficiency.
The CR-V is powered by the same 1.6 L diesel engine, which is also going to be used in the Civic and it produces 120 PS of power at 4,000 rpm and 300 Nm of torque at 2,000 rpm. This engine is mated to 9-speed automatic gearbox, which is one of the most advanced gearbox in its segment and it is available with two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive system.
According to ARAI, the two-wheel drive model of CR-V returns 19.5 Km/l and 18.3 Km/l for the four-wheel-drive model, which make it one of the efficient models in its class. The petrol engine is 2.0 L i-VTEC unit produces 154 PS of power at 6,500 rpm and maximum torque output of 189 Nm of torque at 4,300 rpm. This engine is mated to CVT automatic gearbox.
The CR-V petrol model is available only in two-wheel drive mode and it returns 14.4 Km/l. Honda is also offering the new generation of CR-V with 7-seats and it has 150 litres of boot space for diesel version with the all-three row of seats in place, which can be expanded to 427 litres by folding down the third row and petrol model offers 522 litres of boot space.
Honda is offering the new generation of CR-V with lots of features like 7-inch touch screen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity options, fully digital instrument cluster, LED headlamps and tail lamps, electrically adjustable driver seat, electric park brake, foot-activated tailgate, panoramic sunroof and more.
