It is the first time the four-door Civic sedan is offered in the UK since the arrival of the latest generation to accompany the hatchback
Honda’s UK division has revealed the availability of four-door version of the Civic sedan where the hatchback is more popular due to its sporty driving dynamics and the Type-R performance based model. It is the first time the four-door Civic sedan is offered in the UK since the arrival of the latest generation.
It is retailed in both petrol and diesel engine options. The 1.0-litre i-VTEC turbocharged petrol is already sold in the hatchback version. It is connected to either a manual or a CVT automatic transmission. In a similar fashion to the hatchback, the sedan is dimensionally superior helping in sportier exterior as well as offering increased interior space.
It also has the lowest drag co-efficient compared to the previous generation models. The diesel powered Civic sedan uses a 1.6-litre i-DTEC unit and is coupled to a standard manual or a nine-speed automatic transmission as option. The Honda Civic sedan is produced in Turkey and has sharper bodywork as well as short overhang. The cabin comprises of best-in-class space as per Honda, along with packed features list.
The lower driving position helps in better centre of gravity and increases the handling characteristics of the sedan. The Civic is a core model for Honda in Europe and has been pivotal in strong sales display. The pricing and other aspects of the Honda Civic four-door sedan will be announced upon its launch in the month of August.
The tenth generation Civic sedan made its return to India at the 2018 Auto Expo, along with the new generation CR-V and is confirmed to debut this fiscal. We expect a launch during the final quarter of this year at around festive time.
