The Honda Amaze compact sedan, which is the latest launch from Honda Cars India, has been doing some really great numbers on the sales charts. In the month of September 2018, it posted a sales growth of 228% on Year-on-Year basis. Compared to only 2561 units sold in September 2017, the company sold 8,401 units of the car last month.
The Honda Amaze has been quick in becoming the largest selling car in the company’s lineup, surpassing even the Honda City, which used to be the traditional best-seller of the company. In fact, the carmaker sold more than 30,000 units of the Amaze in the first three months of its launch, which is the highest sales number registered by the company in 20 years of its operations in India.
The Honda Amaze is built on an all-new platform and gets a very bold design. This helps it stand apart from many other compact sedans. Available with many features, the customers seem to be appreciating the premium experience that the entry-level sedan offers.
The latest generation Honda Amaze has been developed keeping in mind the requirements of the Indian car market. Other than this, the car also gets you the Honda brand value, powerful yet frugal engines, good ride and handling characteristics and a handful of safety features.
The new Honda Amaze is on sale with two engine options – 1.2-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel. The petrol motor outputs a maximum power of 88 bhp along with a peak torque of 110 Nm. The diesel engine, on the other hand, produces a maximum power of 98 bhp along with a peak torque of 200 Nm.
Both the engines are available with two transmission options – 5-speed manual and CVT. The latest generation of Honda’s high-selling compact sedan is the country’s fast affordable diesel sedan to offer a CVT.
