Hero MotoCorp is currently working on the production version of XF3R concept from 2016 Auto Expo and it will compete against Bajaj Dominar

Hero MotoCorp is one of the few manufacturers who is struggling in the performance bike segment, even though they had popular models like Karizma and CBZ in the past. The company is on a comeback path and they are reportedly planning to launch four new models in the 200-300 cc segment to improve sales. The first model is Xtreme 200R, which was launched recently and the second one will be XPulse.

According to a recent report, the company is currently working on the production version of XF3R concept from 2016 Auto Expo. The concept model design was completely different from any other Hero product, as it had an aggressive design theme along with street fighter looks. The production model will carry forward most of these design elements.

The headlamp design is similar to some other naked models, but it goes well with the overall package and the company has given a small visor on top of it. The XF3R comes with single piece handlebar, which is positioned slightly taller and the design is focused around muscular fuel tank as it gets tank shrouds and integrated indicators in it.

Hero has given split seat set up for XF3R and the rear get LED tail lamps. The company has given minimal side body panels and one of the most interesting parts of the design is exhaust as it is placed below the pillion seat. If Hero puts forward this design theme from concept, then it will certainly make XF3R stand out from the competition.

The company has given fully digital instrument cluster and it will provide lots of information for the rider. The XF3R will be the flagship product from Hero and we can expect quality to be top notch and it will be based on trellis frame. The concept model gets upside down forks at the front and mono shocks at the rear.

Hero XF3R will be powered by 300 cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, four-stroke engine with fuel injection producing around 30 hp of power and 30 Nm of torque, which is considerably lower than the competition. This engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox and it will come with disc brakes at front and rear with dual channel ABS. The XF3 will compete against Bajaj Dominar, KTM Duke 390 and KTM G310R, and launch will likely take place by 2020.
