The 2018 Volkswagen Polo will debut at the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show; rendered image shows a dynamic front fascia with LED headlamps, chrome trim, large air intake and new bumper

Volkswagen is readying the new generation Polo hatchback that is scheduled to debut at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show later this year. Last month prototype of the next-generation Polo was spotted testing revealing the significantly updated design of the sporty and premium hatchback. In the meantime, a rendered image of the 2018 Volkswagen Polo has surfaced showing it heavily inspired by the Volkswagen Arteon.

Volkswagen unveiled the Arteon at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show and this car grabbed everyone’s attention. The Arteon is being called as the most beautiful Volkswagen car ever designed. No wonder, digital artist Kleber Silva found his inspiration from Arteon while rendering the 2018 VW Polo hatch. With design cues drawn from CC replacement, the new Polo gets a dynamic front fascia.

The image shows the new generation Volkswagen Polo with LED headlamps with dual beam appearance along with LED daytime running lights. The air intake appears much larger than the prototype spotted last month and it gets plenty of chrome garnishing, enhancing the visual appeal further. The front bumper is completely new compared to the current model and it appears pretty sharper and muscular.

At the side profile, the rendered 2018 Volkswagen Polo comes with large and bold alloy wheels, chrome trim highlighting the glass area. Rear fascia too gets revision and sports different taillight pattern with LED lights. It gets an integrated roof spoiler as well.

The upcoming Volkswagen Polo will be underpinned by new lightweight MQB-A0 platform shared with the new Seat Ibiza. Also, this car is due for engine upgrade as well. The engine options will include a 1.5-litre TSI petrol unit, a 1.0-litre petrol motor and an updated 1.6-litre TDI diesel engine as well. The Polo GTI will come powered by a 197 hp producing 2.0-litre TSI petrol engine borrowed from the fifth-generation Golf GTI.
