Maruti Suzuki begins road testing of next-generation Alto in India, which is going to be introduced in the festival season later this year. The design theme of new Alto took inspirations from the Future-S Concept showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo. Maruti Suzuki has given tall boy design for the next-gen version of India’s most popular entry-level hatchback.

The hood is short and it is slightly higher while the A-pillar is steeply raked and the company might offer roof rails in the production model. The rear is expected to get integrated spoiler and big tail lamps. New-Gen Alto to get a new design for the bumper inspired from Future-S concept. The new-gen Alto also gets high ground clearance like the Renault Kwid and it is expected to be around 180mm.

The sneak peek of interior reveals that the design theme of the concept has been carried over as the instrument cluster is digital and it is positioned in the centre console with AC vents on either side. The company is expected to offer the latest SmartPlay studio system on the new-generation Alto.

Like the concept, this system might be integrated into the centre console and it will come with connectivity options like Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The quality of materials is expected to be much better than the current model and the dimensions will be bigger, which will help the new Alto to offer more interior space for passengers.

The Alto will be the entry-level model on Heartect platform and currently, it is new Wagon R.
