The next-gen Hyundai Verna will be offered with new and more powerful engine options, updated features and better safety tech
Hyundai India is aggressively working on updating its Indian line-up and will soon be launching the Creta facelift and the new-generation Verna in the market. From what we know so far, both of these cars will be unveiled at the upcoming Auto Expo 2023.
Multiple reports suggest that the next-gen Hyundai Verna will be offered with updated engine options, many new features and advanced tech that will help it give strong competition to the rivals like the Honda City, VW Virtus, and the Skoda Kushaq in India.
For starters, the new-gen Verna is likely to be offered with three engine options – 1.5L petrol, 1.4L turbo petrol, and a 1.5L diesel. We see similar engine options being offered with the Hyundai Creta in India. Needless to say, all three engines are expected to be offered with both manual as well as automatic gearbox options.
Some reports also suggest that the new Verna might also boast a mild hybrid setup with a regenerative braking system and the auto start/stop tech for better fuel economy. Inside, the new Verna will not only offer a new and more spacious cabin but in addition to this, also gets many other features including a new and larger infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, all-digital instrument console, 360-degree camera, connected car tech, and more.
In addition to this, the new-gen Verna will also boast better safety features including ADAS (advanced driver assistance system) technology. The ADAS safety suite includes features like forward collision mitigation, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, rear cross-traffic assistance and driver attention monitoring. Other features like full-LED headlamps, new alloy wheels, automatic wipers and headlamps, etc are also likely to be offered with this new iteration of the Verna.
With an expected starting price tag of Rs 11-12 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the all-new Verna will give strong competition to the rivals like the Honda City, VW Virtus, Skoda Kushaq, and the Maruti Ciaz in the Indian market. More details will soon be shared by the brand ahead of the launch next year.
