Honda to likely launch the new-gen Amaze in 2024; The compact sedan may share its platform with the brand’s upcoming mid-size SUV

Honda Cars India will soon debut its new mid-size SUV in the country. Along with this, the next-gen model of Amaze is also in the works which is slated for launch in the year 2024. The current second-gen model was launched in 2018 and got a mid-life update in 2021. Here is everything we know about the upcoming third generation of the Amaze sedan.

New-Gen Honda Amaze: Design and Features

In terms of design, the new-gen Amaze will follow the brand’s latest design direction, in line with the latest sedans like the current City and the international spec Accord. This means that we can expect an all-new design which is quite different from the current model, thus giving it a refreshed appeal.

Inside the cabin, the layout is bound to be revised and the new Amaze will come loaded with a host of new tech features. This includes a new free-standing infotainment unit with Honda’s latest interface.

New-Gen Honda Amaze: Underpinnings and Powertrain

If some media reports are to be believed, the new-gen Amaze will sit on the updated version of the existing PF2 platform and it is also likely to do duty on the upcoming mid-size SUV. In terms of dimensions, the sedan will continue to measure just below the 4-metre mark.

Talking about the powertrain, the sedan will be powered by the familiar 1.2-litre i-VTEC engine, putting out 90 bhp and 110 Nm of peak torque. Honda recently discontinued the 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel engine from its line-up, thanks to the BS6 phase 2 RDE emission norms kicking in from April 2023. So a diesel powertrain will not be a part of the package.
