14Maruti Suzuki Baleno RS
Maruti Suzuki Baleno premium hatchback has been a very popular car in India, since it was launched. Inspired by the success of the regular model the Indo Japanese auto manufacturer is gearing up to launch a performance oriented version of the car which is scheduled to launch during the upcoming festive season.
The Maruti Suzuki Baleno RS being performance variant of the hatchback dons some cosmetic updates at exterior and inside the cabin as well. The biggest talking point of the Baleno RS is certainly the powertrain though. Power source for this car is a 1.0 litre turbocharged Boosterjet petrol engine, paired with a five speed manual transmission and churns out 109 bhp of peak power and 160 Nm of peak torque.
The 1.0 litre Boosterjet engine is first Maruti Suzuki-built turbocharged unit locally, and it is reported to come as more fuel efficient than the regular variant, and also delivering more power. Among the exterior changes, the Maruti Suzuki Baleno RS will get a mesh grille giving the car an aggressive appearance, which will be complemented by the revised front bumper.
Expect a wider air intake to make its way into the front bumper, which will give the car a bold touch. Other updates include black alloy wheels, roof spoiler and a revised rear bumper as well. The interior could get a sporty black theme, while any major change inside the cabin is unlikely. The already popular car will surely become more appealing with the performance variant, and it will lock horn with Volkswagen Polo GT TSI and Fiat Abarth Punto.
