Bajaj Discover 125 2-valve variant makes a come back with more mileage and VFM, disc brake standard

Bajaj has been known for making endless Discover variants and this time they have done it again. After discontinuing the Discover 125 T and ST they kept selling the Discover 125M. The Discover 125M came with a mileage of 76 km/l and is 4-valve variant of the Discover series.

This time around, Bajaj has launched all new variant of the Discover 125 in the old body. The underbody parts are now silver satin finished such as the engine, forks, wheels and a subtle newly designed exhaust.

Pricing is set at Rs. 52,002 for the 2-valve variant which compared to the Discover 125 4-valve variant is at 55,331. Prices are for Discover 125 that come with disc brakes.New Bajaj Discover 125 front left (2)

Dimensions and platform of both these bikes is very different. Engines and body styling is also poles apart. The 2-valve 125cc variant comes in the old body form which for example the Discover 100 4G had. The Discover has a smaller tank and tight dimensions overall compared to new 2013 Discover’s. Both bikes have 10.8 Nm of torque but the Discover 125M makes that torque at 6000 RPM while the 2-valve variant makes it 5500 RPM. Discover 125 comes 2-valve comes with a 5-speed gearbox meanwhile the Discover 125M comes with 4-speed gearbox. While the Discover 125M weights 118 kgs, the new Discover 125, the 2-valve variant weighs at 120.5 kgs both these weights are for the disc variants. Bajaj recently chucked out a lot of Discovers and introduced the 150 variants of the Discover which seems to do very well for the company. More news lies ahead as we know two more commuter brands are on their way from the company in the future.
