The fully camouflaged test mule of the new generation TVS Wego was spotted a couple of months ago on Indian road sporting new updates
TVS launched the Wego in the year 2010 and since then the scooter hasn’t received a facelift or any sort of updates which is actually quite surprising. However, the good news is that the two-wheeler manufacturer is perhaps working on a new generation Wego. A prototype of the TVS scooter was spotted a couple of months ago on Indian road while testing.
Although the test mule was covered in heavy camouflage but the rear profile had plenty of resemblance with the current generation Wego. So keeping all this in mind there is a fair chance that TVS might introduce the new generation Wego soon in India.
The prototype model which was spotted did not have any LED elements and thus you can expect the new generation Wego to continue with same halogen headlamp setup towards the front and conventional taillamps towards the rear. The test mule was fitted with a new rearview mirror while you can also expect the analog instrument cluster unit to also be replaced by a new semi-digital unit.
The camouflaged model which was spotted earlier had almost the same design lines as the current generation Wego while the fuel filler cap was also positioned at the same place and in between the rear grab rails and pillion seat. The upcoming Wego will also have a throaty exhaust note like the TVS Ntorq.
As far as its powertrain is concerned, expect the new generation Wego to be powered by the same 110cc motor which produces about 7.8 Bhp of peak power and 8 Nm of torque. TVS motors Ntorq has been quite a hit since its launch last year because it gets plenty of segment first features.
Hopefully, TVS will also add some new and exciting features in the upcoming Wego to make it more appealing to the Indian masses. The sale of the scooter has gone down since it has not received any significant updates for a long time hopefully, the new Wego will help the company to gain some sales number.
