The new 2018 Maruti Ertiga will launch in mid-November, with prices expected to start at Rs 7 lakhs, it will rival Mahindra Marazzo
As per a reputed publication, some Maruti Suzuki dealerships have begun registering bookings of the new Maruti Ertiga. The same report also shows a photograph of the second generation MPV showcased inside a dealership.
The new Maruti Ertiga will launch in mid-November. Production of the new model has already started, and the company is currently producing 100 units of the all-new Ertiga every day. The production will be ramped up as the demand is likely to soar soon after the official launch takes place.
The new Maruti Ertiga will look a lot like the one that has been on sale in Indonesia. The only difference will arise due to a chrome strip on the tailgate. This is a detail that was recently revealed by a set of new spy images. The new MPV will be positioned as a premium product and will be sold through the Nexa premium dealerships.
It will be underpinned by the same lightweight HEARTECT platform that also provides the base for the Baleno, Swift, Dzire, and Ignis. Engines will be shared with the recently refreshed Maruti Ciaz. The petrol version will get a 1.5-litre motor that is good for 105 PS and 138 Nm. Transmission options for this engine include a 5-speed manual and a four-speed automatic.
The diesel version will be powered by the same 1.3-litre Fiat-sourced motor that powers the current version. This engine outputs 90 PS and 200 Nm. It comes mated to a five-speed manual transmission. Both the engine variants will feature the second generation of the company’s SHVS mild-hybrid technology.
As we said, the new Maruti Ertiga will be a more premium offering than the current version. It will offer premium features like the SMARTPLAY touchscreen infotainment system that supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, projector headlamps, engine start/stop button, multifunction steering wheel, and a lot more.
Prices of the new-gen Ertiga should start at roughly Rs 7.20 lakh. Its main rival will be the Mahindra Marazzo.
