Baleno platform will help make the new Swift, which be lighter and stronger than before, Baleno to be a donor for a lot of things for future Maruti’s
The Baleno premium hatchback is on its way to the Indian market as the launch is set to happen on 26’th October. Baleno is extremely important for Maruti’s future models that will be coming soon one by one into the market. Baleno itself is going to see a lot of add-ons and it will donor to a lot of things that brand wants to do in the future. The new 2017 Swift will be coming and it will based on the Baleno platform. Baleno platform is lighter, stronger and more efficient than the Swift platform.
As we know, the Swift platform, which got the Dzire, Ertiga and with few changes, the Ciaz was born was Maruti’s main platform. To conclude all we want to say is that the Swift was the donor to all successful cars in the Maruti range and now its the Baleno, that’s how hard Maruti spent on Baleno R&D that is close to Rs.1000 Crores. S-Cross platform is totally different. The platform is known as the Suzuki Authnetics platform.
This is the reason why Maruti has been spotted quoting that the car is set to be more focused on exports. Something we have told you before as it is set to get multiple 1.2 and 1.0l turbo petrol engines, automatic gearbox for export market.
The length of the car also extends since day for export markets, but in India, the length and bumper is shorter to get into sub 4-meter mark.
Baleno platform mechancial changes aside, the car will be an infotainment donor in the future as well. Baleno is the first car, which gets Apple Car Play and very soon, the Android play as well. All of this is being done as the premium hatchback market worldwide is rising.
Hyundai Elite i20 is clearly a runaway success, the Honda Jazz is back and it is more of a cult worldwide. Maruti want’s that piece of cake, despite it is absent in some markets, where both these brands have strong holds.
Despite Maruti has created a very efficient system on the inside, it has left the enthusiast asking for more again. The turbo petrol engine did not make it despite the fact, it is made in India. The 90 PS tune on the diesel also, did not make it either. However, we got a car which is lighter, quicker, efficient and safer than the Swift, which automatically, if you calculated, is a lot in the offing.
Given Maruti’s pricing strategy, the Nexa dealerships, the new premium hatchback seems to be a winner already and the rest of the brands need to keen eye on its new competitor with an old tag, the Baleno!
