The limited-run MV Agusta F4 RC produces 212 horsepower and 115 Nm torque from a 998cc engine; has claimed top speed of 302 kmph
MV Agusta is known for producing some of the savage high-performance motorcycles ever seen and on that list the F4 exotic cannot be ruled out. More ludicrous is the RC variant of the F4 which is limited to just 250 models worldwide. The Italian brand was kind enough to allot one F4 RC for India with race kit at a staggering price tag of Rs. 51.91 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
MV Agusta certainly knows how to build beautiful exotics and the litre-class F4 RC was no different. Its fairing is made of carbonfibre and thermoplastic material combination while there is presence of an adjustable rider footpegs, lighter crankshaft, Magnesium engine covers, manually adjustable Ohlins telescopic damper, etc.
The Kit Racing Parts offered are Titanium exhaust with mapped ECU, Anodizing aluminium caps for rear mirrors and seats and Carbonfibre pillion seat cover. It helps in elevating performance by 17 hp and 4 Nm due to reduction in weight of 16 kg over the standard F4 – ensuring a hair raising trackday monster.
The MV Agusta F4 RC gets power from a 998 cc four-cylinder four-stroke 16V DOHC engine that pumps out 212 horsepower at 13,600 rpm and 115 Nm of peak torque delivered at 9,300 rpm. It uses separate liquid and oil radiators for cooling while some of the advanced technologies featured are integrated ignition with eight injectors, pencil-coil with ion-sensing tech and Torque Control with four maps settings.
Along with them, it comes equipped with Traction Control with eight levels of intervention, Lean Angle Sensor, Torque Shift System with variable length intake runners and electronically assisted quickshifter. Power is fed to the wheel via cassette-style six-speed constant mesh gearbox. Built on CrMo steel tubular trellis frame, it measures 2,115 mm long, 750 mm wide and has a wheelbase of 1,430 mm. The race-spec machine’s top speed is claimed at 302 kmph (10 kmph higher than regular F4).
The saddle height stands at 830 mm while the minimum ground clearance is rated at 115 mm and dry weight at just 175 kilos. As for the suspension, USD forks (with 120 mm travel) and large 43 mm discs up front are accompanied by progressive twin-tube rear shock absorber with piggyback reservoir. The single-sided adjustable swingarm is made of lightweight aluminium alloy.
For a bike of this ferocious magnitude of performance, stopping power is done by 320 mm double-floating disc and Brembo GP radial-type single-piece with four-piston brake caliper, alongside 210 mm steel disc with 4 piston Nissin rear caliper. The ABS system is a Bosch 9 Plus unit with Race Mode and Rear Wheel Lift-Up Mitigation.
