The modified Mahindra Thar generates 160 hp of peak power; receives several performance upgrades
Mahindra Thar is certainly one of the most capable true blue off-roaders in India. No wonder there are some performance enthusiasts who want more from their machines and here is a result. The most powerful Mahindra of India with extensive off-roading capability. Thanks to the tuning, the stock 2.5-litre CRDe diesel engine under the hood churns out 160 hp of peak power and 247 Nm of peak torque.
The enhanced power and torque output enables the SUV to overcome any tough terrain along with the other performance upgrades made to this SUV. The modifications done to this Mahindra Thar include Bilstain off-road suspension set up, customised off-road snorkel. It runs on 16-inch off-road wheels wrapped with 36 x 12.5 x 16 Maxxis Trepadoir tyres.
Apart from the above mentioned performance upgrades, the customised Mahindra Thar is equipped with large projector headlamps, circular LED daytime running lights, modified fenders, wide and horizontal LED bar sitting on top of the windscreen. The off-road bumpers, bulbar and winch are the other equipment this Mahindra Thar has received in order to perform the tough terrain tasks easily.
Inside the cabin, the modified Mahindra Thar sports Bride Rally 4-point bucket seats, custom made roll cage and it gets a hardtop that has been customised as well. The SUV comes wearing Blue exterior paint scheme with Black accents on different places like radiator grille, bumpers, ORVM caps, fenders, roof and snorkel. Overall, this customised Mahindra Thar appears very aggressive looking and capable off-roader from every angle.
Currently, the homegrown auto manufacturer is working on the next generation Mahindra Thar that is expected to be uncovered soon. It is expected to feature a revised and sharper, more muscular design compared to the current model. There would be some upmarket touch inside the cabin as well and on the powertrain front, all-new Thar is expected to generate more power and torque output compared to the current mode.
