Mini Cooper S Carbon Edition gets power from the uprated 2.0-litre TwinPower turbo motor developing 210 horsepower and 300 Nm peak torque
Mini India has introduced a more powerful version of the Cooper S in the Indian market through the launch of the Carbon Edition. Comes with a price of Rs. 39.9 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi), to maintain the exclusivity of the special edition, only twenty have been allotted and if you fancy buying it will be available online at Amazon India. It is the most expensive Mini on sale in India currently.
Compared to the standard Cooper S, the Carbon Edition is priced more than eight lakhs costlier. The increase in price tag is justified by the inclusion of performance upgrades and accessory add-ons as the special edition receives tuning kit of John Cooper Works. Underneath the bonnet, the 2.0-litre TwinPower four-cylinder turbocharged engine from BMW has been uprated to produce more power and torque.

The engine currently develops 210 horsepower and 300 Nm of peak torque which is 18 hp and 20 Nm up on the standard Cooper S, making it the most powerful Mini to be offered in India. It is coupled with a six-speed Steptronic automatic transmission with paddle shifters. With the help of Launch Control that aids in instant traction, the Carbon Edition can accelerate from zero to 100 kmph in just 6.5 seconds.
The additional power has enabled the Carbon Edition to be two tenths quicker than the standard model while the top speed is rated at 300 kmph from the regular version’s 280 kmph. The accessories list comprises of JCW multi-functional sportier steering wheel, JCW sports seats, 17-inch black alloy wheels, carbonfibre tail pipes, side stripes, Bluetooth exhaust control, aggressive body kit and a new exhaust system.

The other important equipment provided in the Cooper S Carbon Edition are an optional 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, electric damper control, different drive modes, etc. The three exclusive paint schemes in which the Carbon Edition comes with are Midight Black, Thunder Grey and Pepper White.
