MG Showcases ZS & HS SUV In India, Brand Promotion Begins (Exclusive Pics)

MG officially commenced the brand promotion events in India and the company has showcased both ZS and HS SUVs along with 2 other models

MG Motor is one of the new manufacturers coming to India in 2019 and the company is owned by SAIC from China. They have already bought the Halol plant in Gujarat from General Motors to manufacturer India-spec models and the first product for India will be an SUV, which is expected to be launched in the premium SUV segment.

Now they are planning to make the brand more popular among people before launching new models as it will be key for the growth. As part of the brand promotion, MG is going to showcase some models from its International portfolio at some malls in selected cities and the first event took place at the Ambience Mall in Gurugram.

The models present at the event are MG 3 hatchback, ZS, HS and RX5 SUVs. The ZS and HS shares almost similar modern design theme but the ZS come with swept back headlamps with projectors and integrated DRLs, which extend towards the signature grille of MG Motor and the front bumper gets a new design along with fog lamps placed very low.

The compact SUV get black plastic cladding across the body with new stylish alloy wheels. The rear also gets an attractive design, which looks similar to Hyundai Creta with LED tail lamps and an integrated spoiler. The interior design of both ZS and HS is slightly different as HS gets a modern theme while ZS design is similar to what we have seen in other MG models.

The instrument cluster is fully digital on HS with a floating design for the touchscreen infotainment system while the ZS get regular cluster while the infotainment screen is integrated into the dashboard. Both models are loaded with lots of features like leather seats, climate control, keyless entry, push-button start and more.

The ZS is available a 1.5 L and 1.0 L engine while the HS in China comes with the option of 1.5 L and 2.0 L engines, these engines all come with the option of manual and automatic transmission, while some models offer four-wheel drive system in selected markets. The India-spec MG SUV is expected to get its power from 2.0 L diesel engine likely sourced from FCA and a 1.5 L turbocharged petrol engine.
