MG recently launched the 7-Seat RX8 in the Middle East, it is also sold as Roewe RX8 in China by SAIC
The RX8 was unveiled in China as the Roewe RX8 in April last year at the Beijing Auto Show. The SUV was recently launched for the middle-eastern market under the MG brand, and badged as MG RX8.
Here are 5 things to know about the 7-seat SUV –
1. Engine Specs:
The MG RX8 features a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine paired to a 6-speed AT which makes 227PS of power and 360 NM of torque. MG RX8 SUV offers a real time 4×4 with Torque on Demand System. This system changes the torque in 0.1 sec and enhances performance.
2. Dimensions:
MG RX8’s dimensions are truly exceptional even for SUV standards. It is 4,923mm in length, 1,930mm wide, and stands tall at a height of 1,810mm. the RX8 has a 2,850mm long wheelbase.
A massive ground-clearance of 202mm and a wading depth of 800mm, combined with a strong truck-chassis frame means you can literally take your RX8 on any terrain. The RX8 can perform well on good roads as well as off the road, a true all-rounder.
3. Drivetrain
MG RX8 offers 4×4 with 6 driving modes, yes 6 different driving modes to choose from. These include –

It also gets modular rear-seats that allow occupants to choose from different seating layout combinations. Features exclusive for the top-end variant include a dual-zone climate control, cruise control and rear parking camera, keyless entry with push-button start, and a panoramic sunroof.

Even with all the features and capabilities of the SUV, MG has set a competitive price tag for the MG RX8 in UAE. It is priced from AED 84,266 (excluding tax), which is roughly Rs. 16 Lakh in Indian currency, which is truly value for money for a feature-rich, fully-capable 7-seater SUV.
