Mercedes will kick start 2018 by launching S-Coupe and Convertible facelift; expect several models to arrive in India

Mercedes-Benz has revealed its product launch roadmap revealing the timeframe of the upcoming launches in 2018. The German luxury auto manufacturer will introduce 10 models in next year. It reveals the first product launch in 2018 is going to be the facelifted S-Class Coupe and Convertible that debuted at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show.

Second launch in the year is going to be the redesigned CLS Coupe. Shortly after that, the automaker will bring in the all-new A-Class sedan and the redesigned G-Class as well. Expect both the entry level sedan and the facelifted SUV to be revealed at the 2018 Detroit Motor Show. Next in the product launch timeframe is the C-Class facelift that is likely to be launched during the middle of the year.

Shortly after launching the C-Class facelift, Mercedes will launch the revised Sprinter in world market. The company has been emphasising on the greener powertrain options for its future models and 2018 will see the launch of the GLC F-Cell. This hydrogen fuel cell powered SUV has been already displayed at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show and it grabbed pretty much attention with its powertrain technology.

Mercedes-Benz is also preparing to introduce the A-Class sedan Long Wheelbase and GLC Long Wheelbase in late 2018. Apart from that, it will introduce the AMG four-door coupe as well. Interestingly, we can expect the German automaker to bring several models in the domestic market as well, considering its ambition to consolidate its position as the most popular luxury car brand in India.

In last couple of years, Mercedes has been launching a range of its cars in Indian market, keeping pace with its global product portfolio. However, due to the latest cess hike by GST Council, the company is expecting slowdown in sales. It might also hamper the brand’s pace of product launch in the country market.
