The existing S-Class range locally has the Guard versions sitting at the top and the latest addition to it, the S650, will be positioned just below them. The German luxury auto major introduced the facelifted S-Class at the 2017 Shanghai Motor Show last April before entering debuting in Europe a couple of months later. It is sold in cabriolet as well in foreign markets.
The latest Mercedes-Benz S-Class has set new benchmarks in interior and quality standards while the exterior has become more appealing with sharper appearance. The all-new Mercedes-Maybach S650 is priced at Rs. 2.73 crore (ex-showroom, pan India) in India and it comes with a host of driver assistance and safety features on board. It is accompanied by the S560 that costs Rs. 1.94 crore (ex-showroom, pan India).

It has made domestic premiere at the 2018 Auto Expo where it greets the spectators and has officially entered the market.

The Mercedes-Maybach S650 comes equipped with an upright front grille compared to the previous S-Class with revisions to the front and rear bumpers making it sportier than before. It keeps its signature silhouette intact though.

The interior comprises of a three-spoke steering wheel in place of two-spoke design, ambient LED lighting with multiple colours, dual 12.3-inch high-resolution displays in a single glass panel and new wooden trim options.
The Touch Control Buttons on the steering wheel resembles a smartphone screen allowing drivers to operate multimedia system without any distraction. Customers can choose different display styling as well.
The Energizing Comfort uses every feature in the S-Class to create different 10-minute moods that is said to enhance the physical comfort and performance while driving or during breaks. It also possesses Active Emergency Stop Assist, Intelligent, Active Steering and Distance Assist along with updated Active Lane Change Assist among several other technologies.

The Mercedes-Maybach S650 derives power from a 6.0-litre turbocharged V12 engine which is good enough to produce a maximum power output of 621 horsepower at 5,000 rpm and 1,001 Nm of peak torque between 2,300 rpm and 4,300 rpm.
It is connected to a seven-speed automatic transmission. It is claimed to do 0-100 kmph in just five seconds before topping out electronically limited top speed of 250 kmph. On the other hand, the S560 is powered by a 4.0-litre biturbo V8 engine with 463 hp and it helps in doing 0-96 kmph in just 4.8 seconds.
