Mercedes AMG GTS is the performance version comes with V8 engine and a very long hood
Mercedes is making sure this year is the benchmark year for the brand to follow in the next decade. At least that’s what it looks like.
Mercedes has launched everything it has in its arsenal in India and it does look like an attack on our premium luxury car segment from the Stuttgart based manufacturer. After launching right from the A-Class to the GLE SUV, it’s time for some sports cars to come and rumble. As if we didn’t love the same engines sleeper saloons and SUV’s.
Mercedes AMG GTS is finally here and is launched for the Indian market millionaires to have a look around this striking car and maybe consider adding it to their garage. The Mercedes AMG GTS is a stunning looking car, especially in the yellow color and black accents.
The alloys, the side badges and grill along with a diffuser in black to make it look very purposeful. Long nose, stubby rear end and the coupe window line all make it very striking car on the market today, leave alone India, this is all new for the entire world.
The Interior remains a typical Mercedes affair with leather and Alacantra everywhere. Dials and vents is something now Mercedes has been doing very well and have marked their own territory. Flat bottom chunky steering wheel does look very sporty. The center console is driver centeric and flows from the top of the dashboard to the bottom. Mercedes AMG GTS gets LED head and tail lamps for visual drama.
The center console has a Mercedes’s new controller along with driving mode buttons. The buttons on top come from the S-Class and there is a touch screen which is inspired by today’s mobile tablets. There are endless color options to choose from on the inside as well as on the outside. Carbon fibre package, Alacantra packages and much more to make your Mercedes AMG GTS sporty and purposeful on the inside. The car is practical thanks to the engine on the front, you do get a spacious boot as well.
Coming to the heart of the matter, the Mercedes AMG GTS is powered by a 4.0 litre bi-turbo V8 engine that makes 510 PS of power and a mad 650 Nm of torque. Power is going to the rear wheels through a 7-speed dual clutch gearbox. 0-100 km/hr comes up in a very fast 3.8 seconds and it continues to pull till 310 km/hr where it is limited electronically.
The kerb weight of the car stands at just 1645 KG and dry weight is under 1300 kgs. 93% of the Mercedes AMG GTS is made of aluminium and the rest of it is made of magnesium. Safety wise, the Mercedes AMG GTS gets a 8 airbags all around. Overall, a complete performer when it comes to numbers and wins the races and hearts of people.
