Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe gets three versions: GT 53, GT 63 and GT 63 S. The upgraded V8 in the 63 S churns out a massive 630 hp and 899 Nm
Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe has finally landed in North America with a debut at the 2018 New York Motor Show before going on sale early next year. Unveiled back in Geneva for the first time, it is endorsed to be inspired by the legendary SLS and AMG GT models. The performance car has resemblance to the AMG GT in design department with the presence of sleek LED tail lamps, Panamericana grille assembly and a powerdome bonnet.
However, unlike the ‘4-Door’ name suggests, the GT Coupe gains a rear hatchback as in the popular Porsche Panamera. The latest generation E-Class has given the model a striking interior with a plush feel complemented by the quirky sporty bits of the AMG GT line like the centre console and AMG steering wheel.

The Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe can also be had with the 53 badge giving rise to a hybrid drivetrain. It comprises of a 3.0-litre six-pot unit which is good enough to generate a maximum power output of 429 hp and 520 Nm torque. An electric motor adds up 21 more horses and 249 Nm. The GT 53 can do zero to 100 kmph in 4.4 seconds before topping out 280 kmph.
It features a standard all-wheel drive configuration and two rear seat options will be sold in the US including an executive rear seat package and carbon fibre shelled seats. The former enables a dedicated centre console with a touchscreen helping in seats heaters and ambient lighting adjustments. The high-spec GT 63 is the real deal here as it employs a 4.0-litre twin turbocharged V8 engine.

It develops 577 hp and 799 Nm of peak torque and is paired to a nine-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT transmission with an exclusive AWD system. It can complete 0-100 kmph in just 3.3 seconds before going up to 310 kmph. Think the GT 63 is fast? Well, think again! Because Mercedes-AMG also offers a S version with the V8 upgraded to pump out 630 hp and 899 Nm. It is two tenths quicker than the GT 63 and has 313 kmph top speed.
