Mercedes AMG G 63 Edition 463 and GLS 63 are powered by the same 5.5-litre twin-turbo petrol engine making 572 hp and 585 hp respectively

Mercedes-Benz India has launched two new AMG models for the domestic market a few days ago. Powered by the same engine, the Mercedes AMG G 63 Edition 463 and Mercedes AMG GLS 63 expand the performance range of the leading luxury carmaker in India.

The Mercedes-AMG G 63 Edition 463 comes priced at Rs. 2.17 crore (ex-showroom, Pune) and has several interesting features to justify the humongous price. The special edition comes adorned with a single-tone dashboard finished in black designo leather or two-tone seats designo black leather or designo light brown leather with side bolsters in black carbon leather.

In coherence with the seat colour, there is a two-tone centre console, colour-coordinated topstitching on dashboard, front and rear door handles, armrest, handbrake, seat covers and head restraints up front and rear. Highlighting the AMG badge are carbon-fibre trim, designo Exclusive package and door centre panels in designo leather with diamond quilting.

The brimmed up sporty exterior bits include AMG Sport strips on the flanks, inserts in exterior protective strips in dark aluminium look, stainless steel underride guard, 21-inch multi-spoke light-alloy wheels in matt black with high-sheen rim flange, etc.

The Mercedes AMG G 63 Edition 463 uses a 5.5-litre twin-turbo petrol engine which is good enough to produce a maximum power output of 572 hp and 760 Nm of peak torque connected to a 7G-tronic automatic transmission. It helps the SUV achieve 0-100 kmph dash in just 5.4 seconds before topping out electronically limited 210 kmph.

It also gains a 4 MATIC all-wheel-drive system, three fully locking differentials, an off-road reduction gear and an electronic traction system (4ETS) and so on. Over to the GLS 63 AMG priced at Rs. 1.58 crore (ex-showroom, Pune), the exterior comprises of LED Intelligent Light System with integrated LED DRLs, Adaptive High Beam Assist Plus, Red paint brake calipers and Collapsible spare wheel.

Other important items are Mirror package including brand logo projection, Panoramic sliding sunroof, Chrome fins, Anti-theft protection package, EASY-PACK tailgate with electrically operated opening and closing functions, etc.
The Mercedes AMG GLS 63 uses the same 5.5-litre motor to make 585 hp of power and 760 Nm of torque coupled to an AMG Speedshift-plus 7G-tronic gearbox. It assists in reaching 100 kmph from zero in 4.6 seconds.

It also gets several interior features like AMG Performance steering wheel in black Nappa leather, THERMOTRONIC automatic climate control, Temperature-controlled cup holder, Multicontour front seats including massage function, luxury head restraints and seat cushion depth adjustment, Harmon Kardon Logic 7 surround sound system EASY-ENTRY system power release and electrically foldable third seat row.
