Both BMW X5 M and X6 M Black Fire special editions get power from a 4.4-litre M TwinPower V8 engine making 575 PS and 750 Nm torque

BMW has just launched the seventh generation 5-Series in India and is boasted to kick start a new product offensive from the German manufacturer. A few days ago, the new flagship X7 SUV was confirmed to enter production late next year and it could be an attractive addition to the domestic range considering the craze for the full-sized off-roaders in the luxury space as well.

The new 5-Series has been introduced in four variants which includes a range-topping 530d M Sport performance model. BMW, more often than not, makes available different special editions of the popular models in foreign markets and has recently released new Black Fire X5 M and X6 M high-performance crossovers.

About to go on sale in Germany in August, the limited editions have been given a single-tone appearance courtesy of the Sapphire Black Metallic paint job, 21-inch forged alloy wheels finished in black and a blackened front grille bringing a mean look.

Other significant inclusions are the BMW M compound brakes with blue calipers and carbon wing mirror caps. On the inside, the new Black Fire X5 M and X6 M get contrasting Mugello Red leather accents on the Merino leather upholstery, Black Fire badging, anthracite headliner from BMW Individual, piano black finish, etc.

Moreover, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, red contrast stitching, optional BMW M Performance Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel and light-blue leather accents enhance the sportiness of the vehicle. Both the models extract power from a 4.4-litre M TwinPower V8 engine.

It is good enough to produce a maximum power output of 575 PS and 750 Nm of peak torque. The engine is connected to an eight-speed automatic gearbox and has a four-wheel-drive system that mostly sends power to the rear wheels. It enables the crossovers to run from zero to 100 kmph in just 4.2 seconds.
