The best-selling SUV in the country, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, is offered with highly attractive discounts of up to Rs. 45,000
Maruti Suzuki is known for offering highly attractive discounts during the festive season as well as towards the end of the year. With buying sentiments in the mass market segments generally on a positive note during these periods, the company does manage to increase its volumes and market share more often than not.
However, 2018 has not been a defining year for the whole automobile industry, as the numbers are not as impressive as initially projected. Consequently, the biggest carmaker in the country has stepped up to offer cash discounts even for its high profile vehicles. The Vitara Brezza is the best-selling SUV in India and it gets cash discount of Rs. 15,000 along with Rs. 5,000 corporate bonus and Rs. 25,000 exchange bonus.
Altogether, the combined discount of Rs. 45,000 is certainly an eye-catching opportunity for any prospective buyer. The Indo-Japanese manufacturer will have to deal with another rival in the subcompact SUV segment in the form of Mahindra S201. Expected to be dubbed Inferno, the SUV is based on SsangYong Tivoli and is expected to throw in stiff competition with several segment-first features.
The Mahindra S201 will become the most powerful SUV in the segment when it goes on sale in early 2019 and it will likely pack first-in-class features like disc brake on all wheels, dual-zone automatic climate control system and seven airbags in top-spec variants among others. Like every other Mahindra, it is believed to be aggressively priced against rivals, especially the Vitara Brezza.
The vitara Brezza was awarded an impressive four stars in Global NCAP crash tests but its current top nemesis, the Tata Nexon, went one better and became the first India-made SUV to receive full marks from the safety assessment program. It could act as a big USP for Nexon with buyers increasingly conscious about the safety of the vehicles they own in India.
All these factors could have played a big role in Maruti Suzuki proceeding with discounts for the Global C platform built Vitara Brezza. The brand is expected to introduce its flagship SUV at the 2020 Auto Expo and it will sit above Vitara Brezza to lock horns against Hyundai Creta.
