Maruti Suzuki’s new Gujarat plant will produce the two most recently launched popular cars from the brand Vitara Brezza and Baleno
Maruti Suzuki is gearing up for an assault on Indian market with some exciting models. For that the Hansalpur plant in Gujarat is very important to the Indo Japanese automaker. The company already has plants in Manesar and Gurugram. Now with the new manufacturing plant the auto major is eyeing to pump up the production.
The Vitara Brezza and the Baleno are two best selling cars from the company. But the long waiting period is affecting the sales of these cars. Now the Maruti Suzuki desperately wants to reduce the waiting period. For that, the company is planning to start production of Vitara Brezza and Baleno in its new Gujarat plant from 2017. The Gujarat plant is also expected to manufacture some new models, when they get introduced in Indian market in near future.

Maruti Suzuki is expected to launch some new models in near future, which include Baleno RS, Ignis and the new Swift as well. Once these models are launched, the demand will increase. To cope with that, the company is starting production of Vitara Brezza and Baleno in Hansalpur plant. This way apart from reducing the waiting period of the popular models pressure from the other plants will also get reduced.
Being nearer to the shipping port, production in Gujarat plant might also be an important decision in the company’s business strategy. The Vitara Brezza has received immense popularity in very short time after the launch earlier this year. The company started the production of the car with 8,000 units per month, and now it has been increased up to 10,000 units per month. The Baleno production is also expected to hit 10,000 from the present 8,000 units per month.

Talking about the new production plan Mr. RS Kalsi, the executive director, marketing and sales, Maruti Suzuki has said, the company doesn’t want its customers to wait for long. So, it is focusing on the production capacity enhancement.
