Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza sales in May 2017 reflects on yet another month as the compact SUV becomes the most sold diesel car in the country
The Vitara Brezza, introduced last year, pulled out all stops and quickly dethroned the Ford EcoSport in the sub-four metre SUV segment before getting past Hyundai Creta to become the country’s bestselling UV with ease. It has continued its momentum last month as well as 12,375 examples were sold. The appreciable sales performance meant it is also the most sold diesel vehicle in the country for the month of May 2017.
After being the highest sold new launch of 2016 and also having won the reputed 2017 Indian Car of the Year award, Vitara Brezza went past one lakh sales milestone earlier this year along with recording over two lakh bookings. In testament to its popularity, it registered over 9,000 average monthly sales in 2016 and it’s only getting better this calendar year. Surfing on its wave of momentum, Maruti Suzuki has been enduring phenomenal growth too.

Maruti Suzuki will likely add a 1.0-litre Boosterjet petrol to the engine line-up sometime in the future.
The Vitara Brezza takes design cues from the Suzuki XA-Alpha concept and comes with a bold design language. It features vertical-slated H-shaped grille, clamshell bonnet, integrated bull-horn LED lights with DRLs, wider honeycomb air inlets, 16-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels, tapered roofline, projector headlights with a secondary halogen unit, black plastic body cladding, two-piece tail lamps and silver skid plates.
