Maruti Suzuki Sold 1.59 Lakh+ Units In June – Brezza, Vitara, Fronx, Jimny

Maruti Suzuki posted a total of 1,59,418 units in the month of June 2023 as against 1,55,857 units with a YoY growth of 2 per cent

Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) has today announced its sales numbers for the month of June 2023. The largest car producer in the country posted a total of 1,59,418 units last month as against 1,55,857 units during the same period in 2022 with a YoY positive sales growth of 2 per cent. The domestic passenger vehicle sales stood at 1,33,027 units against 1,22,687 units.

This led to a YoY positive volume increase of 8 per cent. In the mini car segment, the combined sales of Alto and S-Presso stood at 14,054 units in June 2023 as against 14,442 units with a YoY sales decline of 2.68 per cent. Moving up the ladder, the compact car space comprising Swift, Celerio, Ignis, Baleno, and Dzire recorded a total of 64,471 unit sales.

In comparison to the corresponding period twelve months ago with 77,746 units a YoY volume decline of 17.07 per cent was noted. The Maruti Suzuki Ciaz midsize sedan managed a total of 1,744 units as against 1,507 units with a YoY volume growth of 15.72 per cent. The combined sales of Maruti Suzuki SUVs and MPVs led to a total of 43,404 units.

Compared to the same period last year with 18,860 units, a massive sales surge of 130.13 per cent was registered on a YoY basis. The Indo-Japanese manufacturer shipped 19,770 units last month as against 23,833 units with a YoY dip of 17 per cent. Maruti Suzuki’s increase in UV market share has been driven by consistent launches over the last year or so.

The Grand Vitara and new generation Brezza were introduced last year while the prices of the Fronx compact SUV coupe were announced in April 2023 and it was followed by the market launch of the Jimny lifestyle off-road SUV. Up next, Maruti Suzuki will bring in the Invicto premium MPV on July 5 – the rebadged version of the Toyota Innova Hycross.

It will become MSIL’s most expensive offering upon arrival. Next year, the brand will launch the new-gen Swift and Dzire and they will be followed by the eVX concept based electric SUV, which was spotted in Europe for the first time recently.
