Maruti Suzuki India has issued a recall program for Baleno premium hatchbacks and Swift Dzire compact sedans, which is the biggest recall program initiated by the Indo Japanese automaker till date in India.
Affected by the recall program are 75419 units of both petrol and diesel powered Balenos, manufactured between 3rd August, 2015 to 17th May, 2016. These Maruti Suzuki Balenos will get an upgrade in the airbag controller software. Additionally 15995 units of diesel powered Balenos manufactured between 3rd August, 2015 to 22nd March, 2016 has been recalled for inspection and replacement of a faulty fuel filter. The affected Balenos include a total of 17231 units of exported models as well. On the other hand the 1961 units of Maruti Suzuki Swift DZire diesel models with AGS variant only will be attended to for inspection and replacement of faulty fuel filter.
The recall program will be started on 31st May, 2016. Maruti Suzuki dealers are expected to contact the owners of the affected cars. All these airbag controller software upgrade, inspection and replacement of faulty fuel filters will be done without any charge at the Maruti Suzuki workshops.
