Maruti Suzuki Future S Concept previews an upcoming compact SUV with a bold and upright design language with distinctive styling
Maruti Suzuki, the leading automaker in the country, is all pumped to introduce a brand new concept at the 2018 Auto Expo in early February. Ahead of the global unveil, it was teased for the first time just over a couple of weeks ago with an image previewing the side profile and silhouette suggesting a robust looking compact SUV.
The latest teaser picture indicates a rather new front end Maruti Suzuki has never pursued before. It has been digitally illustrated by IAB giving us an idea of how the design would probably pan out to be. The brand boasts that the concept is of the next level in terms of design evolution. The Future S Concept or as Maruti says #ConceptFutureS is claimed to be an uniquely styled compact car with bold presence and has a distinctive SUV-ish attributes. We expect it to be a sub-six lakh mini SUV rivalling against the Mahindra KUV100.

The Indo-Japanese company is a stalwart in the entry-level mass segments and its dominance in the market is contributed by cars from base end of the spectrum to around the ten lakh slab. The upcoming compact car is endorsed to create its own positioning by Maruti Suzuki.
It will undoubtedly be positioned below the best-selling SUV in the country, the Vitara Brezza, and will have a brand new space to explore with competitors like the forthcoming Figo Cross and Datsun Go Cross possibly giving a tough challenge. However, it will retain the traditional boxy SUV appearance of the Vitara Brezza going by the teaser images.

Maruti aims at re-defining the compact car design language with #ConceptFutureS and it is expected to mimic the near-production model that could probably be scheduled for launch as early as next year. From the teaser, we can observe its sturdy stance and is said to have higher seating and ground clearance as well as unique horizontal hood adding aggression.
Other interesting design elements it will have are a upright A-pillars connecting the accent on the side sill along with strong shoulders and raised rear with raked rear glass panel and horizontal tail lamps. More information of the brand new SUV concept are expected to be revealed in the days leading up to its world premiere in about two weeks.
