Maruti Suzuki too joins the list of automakers who have decided to increase their vehicle prices for the year 2019

The leading automaker of India, Maruti Suzuki along with some other renowned automakers including, Toyota Kirloskar and Isuzu have taken the decision of hiking the prices of their products from the first month of the year 2019.

In an official statement, Maruti officials quite clearly stated that “The cost of company’s vehicles has been impacted adversely due to the increase in commodity prices and foreign exchange rates,”.

As a result of that, it has become necessary for the auto manufacturer to pass some of the impacts from the forex drops to the customers through a price hike across various segments and models. Keeping in mind the slow growth in terms of sales during the past few months in India this is definitely a tough decision for automakers to hike the prices.

According to the recent reports, Isuzu will be hiking the prices of the vehicles by up to  Rs. 1 Lakh while Toyota Kirloskar Motor said that they will be increasing the prices of their various models by up to 4 percent from January 2019 onward.

At present Maruti sells a various range of cars starting from as low as Rs 2.53 lakh for the Alto800 while their top end offering the S-Cross Crossover is priced at Rs. 11.45 Lakh.

However, for those of you who were planning to get their hands on a new car perhaps this is the right time to go to your nearest dealer and start bargaining for a good price on your favourite model or variant. Maruti currently sales a total of 9 cars through their Arena dealership while their premium dealership Nexa sells a total of 5 cars.
