Maruti Suzuki Baleno Crosses 1 lakh bookings milestone in just 4 month of its launch, Fastest to touch the 1 lakh mark
Despite price hikes Maruti Baleno continues its fast journey in Indian market. It became the fastest car to reach the 1 lakh booking milestone. Incidentally, Marui launched the Baleno premium hatchback in India on 26th October, last year, and this is their second offering through the exclusive NEXA channel. Baleno also became the “GaadiWaadi Reader’s Choice Car of The Year” for 2016.
At the exterior, the premium sporty looking sub-4 metre hatchback with a length of 3995 mm gets features like chrome garnishing at various places, a V shaped front grille, projector headlamps, LED daytime running lights, larger air inlets at the lower front bumper, chrome finished door handles, blackened pillars, LED taillights, chrome garnished rear strip, rear spoiler. The car is built with Suzuki’s “Liquid Flow” theme.
Inside the cabin Baleno sports plenty of luxury features multifunction steering wheel, LCD screen at the instrument panel, a large 7 inch LCD infotainment display with Apple CarPlay, sporty black dashboard and interior, height adjustable driver seat. The LCD screen at the centre console also works as the display as rear view parking camera display and automatic air conditioning controls. The rear comes with 60:40 split seats to offer extra space. It also offers sufficient amount of ken and leg space for the rear occupants despite being a sub-4 metre hatchback.
Maruti Baleno is offered in both petrol and diesel powertrain options. The petrol engine is offered in form of a 1.2 litre K Series unit delivering 85 PS peak power, while the diesel unit comes in form of a 1.3 litre DDiS diesel unit churning out 75 PS peak power. The transmission duty is done by a 5 speed manual gearbox in both variants, while the CVT option is also available with the petrol Baleno. The petrol car delivers 21 kmpl fuel economy, while the diesel variant delivers 27.3 kmpl. The CVT equipped Baleno gives out 17 kmpl of fuel economy.
