2017 Maruti Suzuki S-cross Review_-5 (Maruti suzuki s-cross sales)

Maruti Suzuki is offering a great deal of discount with its S-Cross in some cities including Delhi-NCR and only five days are left to grab it

Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) revived the S-Cross’ fortunes ever since the facelift was introduced late last year. The crossover first came into existence as the inaugural offering from the Nexa premium dealerships but it could not replicate the tremendous response received by Baleno.

However, the facelift has turned the tables around as the S-Cross is regularly averaging 4,000 unit sales monthly considering the last one year. The current flagship product from Maruti Suzuki achieved a milestone of one lakh sales in October 2018 and majority of it was down to the Nexa blue colour according to the brand.

As part of the celebration, the company added new features like high-speed warning system and reverse parking sensors as standard among other items. It also received an updated dashboard and upholstery, along with touchscreen infotainment supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto with MirrorLink connectivity, keyless entry with push-button start/stop, rear parking camera, etc.

Safety features such as dual front airbags, ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) with EBD (Electronic Brake-force Distribution) and ISOFIX child seat mounts as standard across the range. The S-Cross costs between Rs. 8.85 lakh and Rs. 11.45 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi) currently and is sold in Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha variants.

To offset the high commodity prices and impact of foreign exchange rates, Maruti Suzuki will hike the prices from January 2019. Thus, the existing discount of up to Rs. 80,000 is a luring prospect and cannot be missed with just five more days left for the offer to end. The crossover gets powered by a 1.3-litre SHVS diesel engine producing 89 bhp and 200 Nm of peak torque, and is mated to a five-speed manual transmission.

Maruti Suzuki is expected to expand the range of the S-Cross by adding the 1.5-litre K15B mild hybrid four-cylinder petrol engine debuted in the Ciaz facelift with five-speed manual and four-speed automatic transmission choices sometime next year.
