Maruti Suzuki begins with 29% increase in car sales growth in April FY16
Maruti Suzuki, India’s largest car maker announced its total sales for April hit an increase of 29.6 % at 1,11,748 units sold as against 86,196 units sold for the corresponding phase last year. April 2014 also saw a significant increase in sales over the corresponding period of 2013 with 27.3 % at 1,00,709 units against 79,119 units .
MSIL says sales of mini segment cars like the Alto and WagonR saw an increase of 35.9 % to 35,403 units compared with 26,043 units in April last year. The carmaker also said the compact division which includes Swift, Estilo, Ritz, Dzire saw a steady increase by 8.7 per cent to 42,297 units against 38,926 units last year. The compact sedan Dzire Tour also did pretty well with sales sky-rocketing with a 146.4% increase over the year-ago month. The sales of Mid-Size recently launched sedan ‘Ciaz’ from Maruti Suzuki added 4662 units to the total as it sold only 76 units of Sx4 in the same segment in April last year.
Utility vehicles from the passenger vehicle segment including Ertiga & Jypsy saw a plummet in sales at -11.2% selling only 4452 units against 5011 units sold in April 2014, while Vans like Omni, Eeco saw a 45.0% increase to 12,069 units against 8322 units last year.
Whilst the total domestic sales did about 27.3% change from the earlier year from 79,119 units to 1,00,709 units , the total Export Sales also saw a significant increase in sales at 56.0% from 7077 to 10,039 units. Rounding the overall performance of Maruti Suzuki doing better every year marks a change of 29.6% selling a total of 1,11,748 units this year against 86,196 last year.
Hyundai Motor begins with 9.5% increase in car sales growth in April FY16
Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) announced its total sales for April hit an increase of 9.5% at 38,601 units compared with 35,248 units in April 2014. Hyundai recently launched Active i20 & Elite i20’s 12,425 units sold in April 2015.
Honda Cars begins with 14% increase in car sales growth in April FY16
Honda Cars India registered 14 per cent jump in its domestic sales at 12,636 units compared to 11,040 units in April 2014.
General Motors begins FY16 with 31.87% decline in Car sales
General Motors India announced its total sales for April 2015 declined by 31.87 percent at 3,612 units in April 2015 as against 5,302 units in the same month last year.
