Maruti Suzuki Ertiga Cross will likely get a second-row captain seat arrangement and a brand new name

Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) is planning to launch a number of new products in the coming months. Besides upgrading its existing lineup to meet BSVI compliance, the largest carmaker in the country will be bringing in brand new vehicles including the Ertiga Cross and Concept Future S based micro SUV reportedly known as S-Presso.

Every car manufacturer is suffering from the unfavourable circumstances prevailing in the industry as the volume sales have gone down by big margins in the last few months. To get back in the fray, brands are preparing to unleash new cars and Maruti Suzuki did not want to be left behind either.

The Ertiga Cross will go on sale in August and is expected to make a huge impact in the MPV space. The second generation Ertiga was introduced in India in November 2018 with huge anticipation as its predecessor was a tremendous success for the brand. Maruti Suzuki revamped the exterior as well as interior to infuse a fresh breed of enthusiasm into the Ertiga’s range.

Moreover, the Eritga became more upmarket in its own right and its popularity rose to new heights by clocking more than 8,500 units monthly several times. Maruti Suzuki will be expanding the Ertiga’s range through the Cross variant and it will be sold exclusively through Nexa premium outlets.

It could get a new name altogether to differentiate itself from the regular variant. The main highlight of the Ertiga Cross will likely be the second-row captain seat arrangement while the exterior and interior will undergo updates as well. We expect it to get new headlamps with LED DRLs, roof rails, revised front fascia, etc.

It will be offered only in the 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine with smart hybrid technology The powertrain kicks out 104.7 PS and 138 Nm and is mated to either a five-speed manual or a four-speed torque converter automatic transmission in the regular Ertiga.
