The Maruti Celerio registered 92 per cent YoY sales growth in September 2018, with the numbers expected to grow in coming months
9208 units of the Maruti Celerio were sold in September 2018 compared to 4,797 units same month last year. This has led to the registration of 92 per cent YoY growth. But the hatchback registered marginal negative growth compared to August 2018 as sales went down by 295 units. Even though Celerio performs well each month, sales are not consistent.
We can expect sales to increase in the coming month’s thanks to the festival season. The Celerio was launched in 2014 at the Auto Expo and the company has given an update for the model last year to maintain the sales growth. The Maruti Celerio facelift model gets new bumper and black finish for the grille with a chrome line on top.
The fog lamp housing also gets a new design and at the rear, Maruti has made some changes to the tailgate along with a new bumper. The interior continues the same design theme from the previous model and to give a fresh feel, the company introduced black and beige colour combination, which will improve airy feel inside the cabin.
Maruti Suzuki introduced Celerio X last year and it is basically a cross version as it gets exterior changes like black finish for the grille and bumper to make it stand out from the regular model. The Maruti Celerio X also comes with black cladding across the body and the hatchback also gets faux skid plate at the rear.
The 6-spoke 14 inch alloy wheels are finished in black colour on the X variant. The interior is also finished in black colour. Maruti hasn’t made any mechanical changes on Celerio X and it comes in top two variants only. The X model is available in five colour options – Solid Paprika Orange, Arctic White, Glistening Grey, Caffeine Brown and Torque Blue.
The Maruti Celerio comes with features like a music system with Bluetooth connectivity, steering mounted audio controls, power windows, alloy wheels and fog lamps. The company has also focused on Safety as the hatchback get dual airbags and ABS. The hatchback is powered by 1.0 L K-Series engine with 67 hp and 90 Nm, this engine is mated to a 5-speed manual and AMT gearbox.
