Mahindra Passenger Vehicle Sales Grow By Impressive 17% In February 2019

Mahindra sold just over 56,000 units in February 2019 as against 51,127 units in the same month last year with a growth of 10 per cent

Mahindra & Mahindra has today announced its monthly sales numbers for February 2019 and the outcome as expected has been impressive. 56,005 vehicles, With 56,005 units sold compared to 51,127 units during February 2018, an appreciable growth of 10 per cent has been achieved.

Overall, the largest passenger UV maker’s domestic sales contributed the majority and it stood at 52,915 vehicles in the concluded month of February 2019. In comparison, Mahindra retailed 48,473 units in the corresponding month last year at a decent sales surge of 9 per cent. The Passenger Vehicles segment sold 26,109 vehicles last month as against 22,389 vehicles in February 2018 with an impressive growth of 17 per cent.

On to the Commercial Vehicles space, where Mahindra has a compelling presence, 21,154 vehicles were sold in February 2019 as against 20,946 vehicles in the same month in 2018, It has recorded marginal growth. In the Medium and Heavy Commercial Vehicles segment. A total of 686 vehicles were sold while the exports stood at 3,090 vehicles with a growth of 16 per cent.

Mahindra XUV300 SUV

Considering the Utility Vehicles, Mahindra has registered 24,349 units as against 20,977 units in February 2018. Due to the increase in YoY sales at a growth of 16 per cent, it is safe to say that Mahindra has got back to gaining volumes after enduring an steady start to the year in January. On a Year-To-Date basis, the company has showed a strong overall growth of 12 per cent.

Mahindra rides high on the back of new launches since September 2018. The highly promising Marazzo MPV was followed by the flagship Alturas G4 in October and in February 2019, the long-awaited XUV300 broke into the subcompact SUV segment with a starting price of Rs. 7.90 lakh (ex-showroom).

It competes against Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon and Ford EcoSport in the highly competitive space and is offered with the torquiest petrol and diesel engines in its class. It is loaded with several segment-first features such as dual-zone automatic climate control system, disc brakes on all four wheels, heated ORVMs and so on.
