Mahindra XUV500 W4 Variant with 6-inch Infotainment System Launched!

Mahindra XUV 500 Test Drive Review

Mahindra XUV500 W4 Variant with 6-inch Infotainment System launched in a bid to make the base variant look more attractive

Mahindra isn’t shying away despite launching so many products when it comes to upgrading its products. This new move could have easily made it to the facelifted XUV 500 that came last year in the later half. The 2015 XUV 500 got a healthy dose of styling change which made it even more appealing than before. This product has new variant which got so much kit, that a 30 lakh SUV seems pointless to buy. The XUV 500 W10 variant got keyless go to the much-loved sunroof. Later, came the automatic version and even that is acclaimed to be the best clutch-free XUV of all time.

Now, Mahindra has upgraded the W4 base variant with a new 6-inch infotainment system, called the monochrome touch screen unit. The unit replaces the LCD display and with that comes along with connectivity options such as USB, Bluetooth, iPod connectivity, CD and hands-free calling, all in one place. Prices haven’t changed and it continues to start at Rs. 11.51 lakh, ex-showroom.

Surely, it is a good move by the company to make the base variant look more attractive to buyers as the demand for variants is always high in some parts of nation. We think existing customers of the same variant can also get this change if they wanted for a small price. Everything else remains the same with this popular, best selling, highly exported and most sold vehicle Mahindra has made in quite some time. Engine continues to be the same with 2.2 litre motor producing 140 PS and 330 Nm of torque.

Delhi, on the other hand, has the new 1.9 litre engine to by-pass the ban. We think that this has been done as the competition is very near too. Hyundai Tuscon has pretty much everything on paper as the Mahindra XUV 500 to go head on head, given Hyundai’s wide spread reach and Mahindra rural reach the competition is tough. We will see soon what’s going to happen next.
