Mahindra XUV500 Special Edition Showcased in Barcelona

Mahindra XUV500 Special Edition sports dual-tone paint scheme, new alloy wheels and separate entertainment system for rear occupants

Mahindra has unveiled a special edition model of the XUV500 SUV at the Automobile Barcelona. XUV500 is the flagship model from the homegrown SUV specialist and this special edition models is based on the top-end trim W10. This Mahindra XUV500 special edition gets distinctive design and features. It is not sure if Mahindra will launch the special edition model in Indian market, but the car surely is capable of drawing attention.

In terms of design, the special edition Mahindra XUV500 gets a dual-tone paint scheme with the primary colours being Orange and Brown. The roof, pillar, roof rails and turn indicator integrated ORVMs are finished in glossy black, while the lower body wears Orange theme.

The basic silhouette of the Mahindra XUV500 special edition remains same as the regular model. At the side profile, the special edition SUV sports new design glossy black painted alloy wheels. Rear of the car appears identical as the standard model. Dimensionally, also, the special edition Mahindra XUV500 is same as the standard model.

The little design updates are not limited to exterior, but inside the cabin too it has received couple of changes. It gets separate entertainment system for the second row occupants with displays integrated to the back of the front seats. This certainly enhances the premiumness of the vehicle. Apart from that, the special edition model features multi-function steering wheel, analog dials and digital display consisting instrument cluster, a touchscreen infotainment system at the centre console.

Power source for the Mahindra XUV500 is a 2.2-litre mHawk140 turbocharged diesel engine that is capable of churning out 140 hp of peak power at 3,750 rpm and 330 Nm of peak torque between 1,600 rpm and 2,800 rpm. The special edition model is offered with a 6-speed manual gearbox. The Mahindra XUV500 is available in both 2WD and AWD driving options and it is priced between Rs. 12.49 lakh and Rs. 18.89 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi).
