Mahindra’s XUV300 currently claims to be the most feature-rich vehicle in the segment but is the upcoming Hyundai Venue better?
Mahindra launched the all-new XUV300 in the Indian market earlier this year. Based on the SsangYong Tivoli X100 platform, the XUV300 is currently the most feature loaded vehicle in the segment. It takes on the likes of Maruti Vitara Brezza, Ford EcoSport and Tata Nexon.
Recently, Hyundai India officially revealed all about their upcoming sub-4m SUV – Venue, that will take the competition to the next level. How does the upcoming Venue take on the Mahindra XUV300 when it comes to the specs? We have the answer for you.
Mahindra XUV300 Vs Hyundai Venue Engine:
The upcoming Hyundai Venue gets powered by three different engine options. Two of them are petrol while there is a diesel engine on offer too. Hyundai offers a 1.2-litre, four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine in the Venue that generates a maximum of 83 PS and 114 Nm of peak torque. It is only offered with a 5-speed manual transmission.
The diesel variants of the Venue will get the 1.4-litre four-cylinder diesel unit from the Hyundai Creta and Hyundai Verna. It produces a maximum of 90 PS and a peak torque of 220 Nm. It gets a 6-speed manual transmission. For the performance lovers, Hyundai will offer a 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that generates a maximum of 120 PS and peak torque of 171 Nm. It gets both 7-speed dual clutch automatic transmission and a 6-speed manual transmission.
XUV300 is available with two engine options. The petrol variants are powered by a 1.2-litre, four-cylinder, turbocharged engine that generates a maximum of 110 PS and peak torque of 200 Nm. It gets a 6-speed manual transmission. The diesel variants of Mahindra XUV300 gets the 1.5-litre unit that generates a maximum of 115 PS and 300 Nm of torque. It also gets the 6-speed manual transmission.
Mahindra is yet to offer an automatic version of the XUV 300 in the market, but it is said to be in the pipeline and is expected to be launched later this year. So, Mahindra XUV300 offers a more powerful diesel engine while the Venue offers more power 1.0L Turbo petrol engine.

Even though both Mahindra XUV 300 and Hyundai Venue get the same 3,995mm of length, the Mahindra XUV300 is wider, taller and gets a longer wheelbase too. The Mahindra XUV300 measures 3995 X 1821 X 1617 while the Venue measures 3995 X 1770 X 1590. The XUV 300 boasts of 2600mm of wheelbase while the Venue gets 2500mm of wheelbase. So, the XUV300 offers more legroom, shoulder room as well as headroom.

The Mahindra XUV 300 gets a long list of features in the segment. The list includes quite a few futuristic features like steering modes, which remains unique in the segment. Advantages of Hyundai Venue over Mahindra XUV 300
Hyundai Venue gets a long list of features similar to the XUV300. But it offers features like the BlueLink eSIM connectivity, which will be extremely helpful for the owners. It will allow the owners to track their vehicle location live and also take control of the vehicle remotely through the smartphone app.
The Venue also offers rear AC vents, which is missing from the XUV 300. The most significant advantage of the Venue will be the 3-year unlimited kilometre warranty and the 3-year roadside assistance, which will be a boon for the owners who love to travel.
