Mahindra XUV300 (Vitara Brezza Rival) To Get These 5 Segments First Features

Mahindra-XUV300-Launch-In-December-2018

The upcoming Mahindra XUV300 will get many segment first features including sunroof, most powerful engine

Mahindra is definitely on a role here that’s for sure. The homegrown utility vehicle manufacturer will be introducing their flagship SUV to take on some big names of this SUV game like the Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour. On the other hand, they are not leaving the entry-level space empty either.

Mahindra has been planning to launch a subcompact SUV for a long time now. We have seen the SUV which is codenamed S201 internally being tested on a number of occasions. The SUV will be launching in India towards the end of 2018 and will compete directly against the likes of Ford Ecosport and Tata Nexon.

The XUV300 (S201) will be built around on a monocoque chassis instead of a ladder frame construction and thus will be a better handler. Mahindra is quite positive about their new upcoming SUV and has also fitted it with many segment first features to attract the attention of the potential customers.

Below provided are the details of the 5 segment first features which you can expect in the upcoming Mahindra XUV300/S201 SUV.

1. Panoramic Sunroof

Believe it or not but the Ford Ecosport and Tata Nexon rival will feature a Panoramic sunroof. This exclusive segment first feature was spotted in one of the test mules of the S201. There is no doubt that Indian customers definitely look for a sunroof while they are buying an SUV. However, the premium feature will most probably be offered only on the top-spec variant of the SUV.

2. The most powerful Diesel engine in its segment

Reports state that the upcoming XUV300 diesel variant will get the 1.5-litre D15 four-cylinder unit which also powers their recently launched Marazzo MPV. The 1.5 Liter unit produces around 123 Ps of peak power and an equally impressive 300 Nm of torque on the Marazzo. The engine will be paired to a 6-speed manual gearbox which will send power to the front wheels.

If Mahindra decides to introduce this diesel powertrain on their subcompact SUV then there is no doubt that the XUV300 (S201) will be the most powerful vehicle of its segment. The meaty 300 Nm of torque is something which we all will definitely appreciate in a vehicle of this size. We would really appreciate an all-wheel-drive variant as well but that will seriously be something too much to expect from Mahindra.

3. Dual Zone Air Conditioning

Mahindra is leaving no stones unturned to make the XUV300 a show stealer. The interior of the upcoming SUV will be equally exciting like its exterior. The XUV300 will get a dual zone Air conditioning system which will give the occupants freedom to actually choose the right temperature settings for them when traveling. This will be a segment first feature which you will only find in the upcoming Mahindra SUV and will help add a premium feel to the SUV.

4. Disc Brake on all the four wheels

This is also a segment-first feature that you will notice in the soon to be launched Mahindra XUV300 (S201). The subcompact SUV will feature disc brake on all the four wheels (the test mule was spotted with disc brakes on all the four wheels recently).

Adding disc brakes on all the four wheels will definitely help improve stopping power. At the same time, it also makes us believe that the SUV will definitely have a powerful diesel unit under its hood that s also the reason why the subcompact SUV will need good brakes.

Mahindra won’t compromise on the safety of the passengers and thus you can expect the XUV300 to be one of the safest vehicles of this segment. The reports state that the top end variants will have a total of 7 airbags while you can expect both drivers as well passenger-side airbag to come as standard on all the other variants.

Besides the 7 airbags, the XUV300 will also get ABS and EBD as standard. Some other safety features which you can also expect in this upcoming vehicle will include speed alert system (it will warn and alert the driver if he crosses 80 km/h mark), speed sensing door lock, ISOFIX child mounts, and seatbelt reminder.
