The design of XUV 300 took inspirations from Tivoli and overall body structure is same but the company has changed front and rear completely
Mahindra is working on a new subcompact SUV for sometime now and we have seen lots of prototypes testing in different parts of the country. Although, the latest test mules spied come with production ready parts and they are camouflaged heavily to hide details, we have digitally created a rendering of the production version based on them.
It is expected to be christened as XUV300 and the XUV name is for a reason as the new model could continue the lineage of the popular bigger sibling XUV500. The codename of upcoming model is S201 and it is based on X100 flexible platform of SsangYong Tivoli.

The design of XUV 300 took inspirations from Tivoli and overall body structure is same but the company has changed front and rear completely. The front get swept back headlamps with LED DRLs on top and we can expect projectors on top end variants. The lower part of bumper is finished in black colour to give dual tone theme for XUV 300 while the grille is somewhat similar to old XUV 500.
The company has tried to give an authentic SUV appearance for the front as customers in subcompact SUV segment really like this as Vitara Brezza also has a similar look and it is one of the reasons for its success. At rear, the design is toned down and it has a modern appearance like Tivoli. Mahindra has given two piece tail lamps with LEDs and the number plate holder is placed in hatch door rather than on bumper.

Mahindra has given dual tone bumper at rear and it has reflectors on it. The rear is the most attractive part of design. The interior of S201 was already spied and it is similar to Tivoli which could help Mahindra to save some money in development as they want to price the new model aggressively against competitors.
It can be expected to have packed equipment list as well along with safety features like dual airbag, ABS and EBD as standard. The compact SUV could be powered by 1.2 L petrol and 1.5 L diesel engine mated to manual and AMT gearbox options. Mahindra is expected to launch XUV 300 in the coming months.
