Indian rallying ace Gaurav Gill demonstrates Mahindra XUV300’s exhilarating driving capabilities In New TVC

Mahindra XUV300 is one of the most awaited models to be introduced in India and the launch will take place on the 14th of next month, and the company has officially opened bookings since last week. The upcoming compact SUV will come with two engines options – 1.2 L turbocharged petrol engine and new 1.5 L diesel engine, which made its debut in the new Marazzo last year.

The 1.5 L diesel engine produces 123 PS of power and 300 Nm of torque, which makes it the most powerful diesel engine in its class and it will come with 6-speed manual transmission while the AMT gearbox might be offered at a later stage. Mahindra has packed several segment-first features with the XUV300.

The 1.2 L turbocharged petrol engine has already been confirmed to generate class-leading 200 Nm peak torque. The XUV 300 is based on the SsangYong Tivoli’s X100 platform as both models share plenty in common. But the design is more aligned to the bigger XUV500 as obvious from the front grille and DRLs.

The exterior design theme is completely different from Tivoli as Mahindra has given new front grille, which comes from Alturas along with big headlamps and new LED DRLs, which extend towards fog lamps. The company has given 17-inch machine cut alloy wheels and the rear gets big tail lamps along with a new bumper.

The interior is shared with Tivoli but the company has given new three spoke multi-function steering wheel and a new instrument cluster. The XUV 300 comes with lots of luring features like dual-zone climate control, disc brakes on all four wheels, sunroof, leather seats, cruise control steering settings (Normal, Comfort and Sport), 7 airbags, ESP and more.

The new TVC showcases the XUV300 being taken out for a spin by Indian rallying ace and multiple time national and APRC champ Gaurav Gill. The current WRC2 driver took the XUV300 spinning and sliding through the cones, doing J turns and what not! He jumped into the unpaved off-roading course and was doing all the crazy manoeuvres showcasing the upcoming compact SUV’s capabilities.
