Over the last few months, we have heard and seen a new variant of the Mahindra TUV300 subcompact SUV doing rounds and it’s a significant departure over the regular model by accommodating more occupants. Mahindra is trying to address the customers wanting to have more space inside the cabin in an affordable price range with the TUV300 Plus.

Moreover, it would help in overturning the decreasing sales volume of the standard TUV300, which competes in a segment led by Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon, Ford EcoSport and Honda WR-V. Here is everything you need to know about the newly launched Mahindra TUV300 Plus:

The TUV300 Plus has now officially gone on sale with a price of Rs. 9.47 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai) and is offered in P4, P6 and P8 variants.

The Mahindra TUV300 Plus has a length of 4,400 mm, width of 1,835 mm and stands 1,812 mm tall. Despite being 401 mm longer than the standard model, it has a same wheelbase of 2,680 mm as its sub-four-metre sibling. The stretched SUV tips the weighing scale at 2,410 kilograms and has fuel tank capacity of 60 litres.

The exterior elements are obviously shared with the regular TUV300 but the changes to the rear-end meant it has an uniqueness of its own. As for the powertrain, the Mahindra TUV300 Plus uses a 2.2-litre diesel mHawk D120 engine, which is good enough to produce a maximum power output of 120 bhp and 280 Nm of peak torque.

Mahindra TUV300 PlusThe engine is connected to a six-speed manual transmission, and possesses Micro Hybrid technology, as opposed to the five-speed unit utilised in the regular TUV300. Power is sent to the rear wheels.

Mahindra TUV300 Plus Interior And Features

The nine-seater is bolted with 215/70 R16 tyres with steel wheels and comprises of an all-black interior theme. With added convenience of fold up side-facing third row seats, the TUV300 Plus features power windows, Air Conditioner with heater, 12 V charging sockets, tilt adjustable power steering, etc.

It comes equipped with what Mahindra calls Cushion Suspension Technology that is claimed to deliver “superior ride experience on all type of roads”. The interiors are stated to be designed by the legendary Italian design house, Pininfarina, and faux leather seats are used to give upmarket feel.

Other important features are steering mounted audio and phone controls, front row armrests, rear defogger along with wash and wipe, driver seat height adjuster, storage tray below driver’s seat and lead-me-to-vehicle/follow-me-home headlamps.

A 17.8 cm touchscreen infotainment system with GPS navigation and 4 speakers + 2 tweeters, Bluesense App, ECO mode, AC ECO mode, Micro Hybrid Technology, Brake Energy Regeneration Technology, Intellipark Reverse Assist, and Driver Information System are also provided for better in-car experience.

Mahindra TUV300 Plus Safety Features

The TUV300 Plus is made of toughened high-strength steel body and the chassis has been derived from Scorpio. As for the safety features, the nine-seater gains dual-airbags, ABS with EBD (Electronic Brake-force Distribution), and hazard lights switching on during panic braking.

To make buying easy, Mahindra has made available customizable finance options with low down payment and EMIs as low as Rs. 11,999. Customers can also opt for customised AMC options starting from Rs. 0.31/km and extended shield warranty of up to 5 years.
