Mahindra is expected to launch three all-new SUVs within the next year including the five-door Thar and facelifted XUV300
Mahindra & Mahindra is likely working on introducing three all-new SUVs within the next twelve months in the Indian market and here we have brought you all the key information:
1. 5-Door Mahindra Thar:
Mahindra is planning to introduce the five-door variant of the Thar in India next year. Based on the same ladder frame chassis as the Scorpio N, it will offer additional practicality and space compared to the existing three-door model. It will cater to families and those seeking more passenger capacity without compromising the rugged design and off-road capabilities of the SUV.
It has been caught testing multiple times on public roads but it won’t arrive this year as Mahindra has confirmed that it will only be introduced in 2024. It appears that Mahindra will announce its future plans in South Africa in the coming weeks. As for the performance, the familiar 2.2L mHawk four-cylinder diesel and the 2.0L mStallion four-cylinder petrol engines will be utilised in the larger Thar.
It will be paired with a six-speed manual transmission or a six-speed torque converter automatic unit. The five-door Mahindra Thar will be positioned above the recently launched Maruti Suzuki Jimny. In addition, it will help in expanding Thar’s portfolio further and reaching out to a wider set of audience due to its expected practical nature.
2. Mahindra XUV300 Facelift:
The facelifted Mahindra XUV300 will be subjected to a complete revision judging by the spy images. It will likely go on sale in early 2024 with a redesigned front end boasting a new grille and LED DRLs, sharper LED headlamps, and an updated bumper. Other highlights will include newly designed alloy wheels, a revised rear with new tail lamps, tailgate and bumper.
The interior will take inspiration from the XUV700 and is expected to gain a major update as it is obsolete right now. It could get a larger touchscreen infotainment system with AdrenoX interface, a digital cluster, a new steering wheel and a more premium features list with in-car connective tech, wireless charger, electric sunroof and much more.
3. Mahindra Bolero Neo Plus:
Expected to be offered in multiple seating configurations, the Mahindra Bolero Neo Plus will be available with a diesel engine and a tweaked design compared to the regular Bolero Neo. It could be launched later this year.
