Mahindra has given dual tone colour for the dashboard with black for the top and beige for bottom; centre console gets 7 inch touchscreen infotainment system
Mahindra S201 is one of the most awaited models from the Indian manufacturer. The S201 has been spied in its every stage of development from initial body designs to the final one which we see now. But the interior of S201 was still under the cover and finally the interior has been spied for the first time revealing the upmarket interior theme.
The S201 is based on SsangYong Tivoli platform and we were expecting a different design theme for S201 but on the interior, Mahindra has disappointed as they lifted the same dashboard from Tivoli for the new model. The S201 comes with three spoke steering wheel with adjustments and it gets controls for audio and Bluetooth.

The metre console is different from Tivoli as it get speedometer and odometer dials with a centre screen which display various information for the driver. Mahindra has given dual tone colour for the dashboard with black for the top and beige for bottom. The centre console gets 7 inch touch screen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Mahindra has given two USB ports with one can be used for charging and aux-in also. Below the infotainment is plethora of buttons for the climate controls which are outdated in this generation of cars and it get a piano black finish. The S201 will come with dual tone climate control which is going to be a segment first.

The dashboard gets aluminium finish in the centre which gives it a premium finish. Mahindra is expected to pack S201 with lots of features like push button start (Which we can see in the spy image), alloy wheels, projector headlamps, spoiler, automatic headlamp, automatic wiper and more. Even though Tivoli gets all wheel drive system, Mahindra won’t give it for S201.
Mahindra S201 is powered by 1.5 L diesel engine with 90 PS of power and new 1.2 L three cylinder petrol engines. The diesel engine mated to new 6 speed manual gearbox and the petrol engine mated to 5 speed manual gearbox. We can expect Mahindra to launch S201 by the end of this year and it will compete with Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and Ford EcoSport.
