Mahindra’s Pininfarina K350 Electric SUV Concept Bows At Beijing

Pininfarina the famous Italian design centre which is owned by Mahindra and Mahindra announced earlier this year that the company is moving towards manufacturing its own vehicles. The H600 and H500 concepts shown at earlier motor shows were popular among the visitors thanks to their design.

The Italian firm is also working on an electric hyper which is set to make its debut in 2020 and now the company has revealed K350 which is an electric SUV at the Beijing International Auto Show. Pininfarina is working in partnership with Hong-Kong based electric automaker Hybrid Kinetic group to turn these concepts into production model.

The K350 electric SUV continues the same design theme of its siblings. The front get Hybrid Kinetic group signature vertical slats grille finished in chrome with the logo on the centre. The LED headlamps are small and the lower part of the bumper design is similar to the H500 sedan concept. The side design of K350 is simple as it get camera instead of mirrors and flashy looking alloy wheels.

The window line merges with the rear glass and the integration is perfect. The roof line flows to the rear with the hatch door get a steep rake to make it look sporty. The LED tail lamp is a single piece unit which extends across the body. Overall, the exterior design is futuristic and appealing to young customers.

The Italian firm continues this theme to the inside also. The two spoke steering wheel with all digital instrument cluster design gives premium feel for the cabin and the infotainment system run across the dashboard as various function of the car can be operated by the co-passenger using this screen.

The K350 is a four seater SUV as rear passengers also get touch screen and seat cushions are attached to the centre armrest. The K350 is powered by electric motors with a combined output of over 400 hp. The company hasn’t revealed official range yet but with the range extender Italian firm is aiming for 1000 km range. 0-100 kph in 4.7 sec and top speed is 250 kph. We can expect the production version of K350 to reach market in few years time.
