Mahindra Model Wise 2021 Sales – Bolero, Scorpio, Thar, XUV700, XUV300

Mahindra recorded 2,01,453 unit sales in 2021 as against 1,34,743 units with a healthy YoY sales surge of 49.5 per cent

Mahindra & Mahindra finished the Calendar Year 2021 as the fourth most sold carmaker in the country behind Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai and Tata. It posted 2,01,453 unit sales last year as against 1,34,743 units during the twelve-month period in 2020 with a massive YoY volume increase of 49.5 per cent courtesy of the new launches.

The consistency of the long serving models should not be overlooked either. The Bolero was the most sold Mahindra in 2021 as 65,313 units were recorded against 53,137 units in the previous year with a YoY volume increase of 23 per cent. Mahindra is working on another mid-life update to the Bolero while an all-new model could arrive only in the future.

The XUV300 finished in the second position with 47,432 units last year as against 32,197 units in 2020 with a YoY sales increase of 47.3 per cent. The Scorpio endured a domestic total of 36,945 units in CY2021 as against 31,240 units in the previous year with a YoY sales increase of 18.2 per cent. It must be noted that the new-gen Scorpio will go on sale in the coming months.

It gets an assortment of changes inside and out and will likely be powered by a 2.2-litre diesel and a 2.0-litre petrol engine found in the XUV700. The second-generation Thar has been well received amongst customers since its went on sale in late 2020 and its popularity is evident from the sales charts as 32,139 units were recorded against 4,865 units.

This led to a massive YoY positive growth of 560 per cent – highest within Mahindra’s domestic range last year and more than 75,000 bookings have been made already for the lifestyle off-roader. The homegrown SUV specialist also looks to be developing a five-door version of the Thar. The XUV500 is no more on sale and it contributed 5,321 unit sales to the total last year.The all-new XUV700 was one of the highlighting launches of 2021 and it was responsible for garnering 11,964 units. The midsize SUV is available in five- and seven-seater configurations in an expansive range and more than 65,000 bookings have been made already. The Marazzo MPV finished seventh ahead of Alturas G4, KUV NXT and Verito.
