Mahindra Marazzo Accessories-2

Powering the Mahindra Marazzo is an all-new 1.5-litre, turbocharged diesel engine that outputs a maximum power of 121 bhp and a peak torque of 300 Nm. The Marazzo is the first-ever ladder-frame construction with a transversely mounted engine with FWD. The motor comes mated to a six-speed manual transmission. It tips the scales at 1,650 KGs.

The Hyundai Creta, on the other hand, is available in three engine options – 1.4 diesel, 1.6 diesel, and 1.6 petrol. As the Marazzo is yet to get a petrol engine option, let’s restrict our comparison with the diesel engine options only. The 1.4-litre diesel engine of the Hyundai Creta produces a maximum power of 88.7 bhp and a peak torque of 219.7 Nm. The engine comes mated to a six-speed manual transmission.

The 1.6-litre diesel engine, on the other hand, produces a maximum power of 126.2 bhp along with a peak torque of 259.87 Nm. While the Creta lags in terms of the torque, it’s considerably lighter, at 1398 kgs. Moreover, the 1.6-litre variant is available with both 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission. Hence, the Hyundai Creta is the winner of this part of our Mahindra Marazzo vs Hyundai Creta comparison.
